Rainbow District Tour
Welcome to Jabal Amman. A special place, steeped both in the early history of the area and the modern life of Jordan. In its early days, Jabal Amman was the center of Jordan’s political and cultural life. As you tour the streets of the Rainbow District, you will see history of the families and their homes that shaped the Kingdom.
Highlights of the tour include:
- The Soap House featuring handmade olive oil soaps by the village women of Ajloun, and Dead Sea products enriched with the minerals from the sea.
- The Jordan River Foundation which was first rented to the British and used as a police station and school, now a villa used for shops and a craft center.
- The Royal Film Commission bringing Hollywood to Jordan.
- The late King Hussein's birthplace.
The newly renovated Rainbow District is a charming area featuring quaint cafés, book stores, galleries, shops, and boutiques. Optional lunch at the Wild Jordan Cafe, an eco friendly and organic eatery with views of downtown Amman.
We hope that you enjoyed The Rainbow District.
